Why haven’t I been here before? Why has no one ever told me how fabulous the food is?

What a little gem of a place….dont be decieved by the exterior they are open and there is a very warm welcome that awaits you if you venture inside. This was one of the best meals we have had in Cornwall would definetly recommend the venison …but everthing was seasonal and locally produced..they also have a very good wine list, Its not cheap but we would thought it was really good value for the quality …stands head and shoulders above some of the big names in Truro where sometimes it feels thats excatly what your paying for. Take our advice and give Tabbs a visit you wont be dissapointed .

Haddock soup for starters
LAMB main
Toffee pudding starters

well what can i say,the service tho polite was a little disapointing due to the fact the waitress was new and was a little forgetful with asking for drinks, and something to stir the coffe with, and not knowing the menu at all ;(

The wine menu was 4 x as big as the menu,
very nice seating and layout,
The food ……

OMG better than any others i have ever tried and i have eaten in a few trust me,
The soup was amasing full of flavour complimented with awesome crunchy bread.

The lamb tender perfectly cooked and the potatoes and courgetts were out of this world.

pudding with his home made chocs were to die for and a real indulgence.

Im a caterer and very paticular in what i eat

The has got to be at least 95/100 only let down by the service

A gem in Truro and possibly the best in cornwall, Fifteen isnt even in this league, this place is in the same league as Ramseys.

well done guys and keep up the hard work

Tabbs is open for lunch again! We have had the builders in for months and what was needed this week was a bit of abreak from it all. We ended up shopping in Truro and Tabbs for lunch. The food and service were every bit as good as the evening experience. All that seemed to be missing is the amuse bouche. Our starters were the goats cheese and the soup, followed by the neck of lamb and the pork. Everything was cooked to perfection and Nigel even had my wife’s favourite deep fried courgetees as the green vegetable. In conclusion, if you want a liesurely lunch of the highest quality, look no further than Tabbs.

A recent visit to this restaurant was delightful. Imaginative, well presented good food in a modern atmosphere. Friendly service. It lived up to its expectations.

Having recently eaten out at the resataurant of one of Cornwall’s better known chefs and had two disasterous courses, it was a great relief to have nothing but excellence in every department at Tabbs for a family meal. The five of us had a variety of starters, main courses and deserts. All were pronounced excellent. Nigel Tabb is an exceptional chef who really takes a great pride in his work. It is nice to see that not everyone has dropped their standards in the face of the recession. Tabbs should be on every local’s and visitor’s must visit list.

A firm favourite with the locals and no wonder, the food is excellent, local seasonal produce cooked to perfection, what more could you ask for, oh yes 2 courses for £14 with a coupon from the local newspaper, will be going again soon and don’t even mind paying full price, yum.
